If you like to read news about the Philippines and Filipino news is your daily habit, then PhilNews is THE application for you.

This application uniquely features:
- Downloading of the RSS feed news title and summary so that you only need to be online to the internet to refresh the news and then be able to read the news anytime thereafter even if you are not connected to the internet
- Organizes news according to different categories so you can browse what is important to you
- Collates news from multiple sources such as Philstar.com, ABS-CBN, GMA, Manila Bulletin, Businessworld, and other top Pinoy newspapers
- Allows you to view the entire article when you have an internet connection

We built this application with reliability in mind, and have implemented our own redirection technique to ensure that if a news source is problematic, we can update your news sources without having to publish a new version of PhilNews.

NOTE: The first time you run this program, you need to download news. You need to be connected to the internet to do so. You should download all the news via the Home page update button, during which time the app will download and arrange all the news via categories. It may take some time to download depending on your internet connection.

Very current. So easy to use. Accessing Filipino news was usually difficult and messed-up so I would seldom do it. With this, its so organized and just a click away. The different catogories give me the option to only read the news that I like. The one or two line intro before going to the complete article is smart and time efficient. I dont have to go to many web sites or newspapers for the news. Everything is here. So far, havent encountered any bugs since there are so few clicks that are needed to navigate through this app. Now, I check the news several times a day. Before I would hardly read the news. This is a very useful app.

Nice, clean, and logical interface makes it quick and easy to read the news you want. The option to update only the categories that interest you saves time. If you want to, you can also update all news categories with one click. When clicking on a headline, the article preview page lets you decide if you want to read the rest of the article or not - another time saver. Ive used this app a lot the last few days. Its fast and hasnt crashed on me yet. For $0.99 its well worth it. Thanks for helping a Filipino in the US keep up with events back home.
